Today's Pick? While the fates seem to be pointing me toward a particular holiday classic unfolding in three-count-'em-three separate venues today, I'm compelled to choose a different masterpiece on today's sked, and it ain't 'cause I got a thing for nuns. Which I don't. Ahem. Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's BLACK NARCISSUS, screening today in its recent and glorious DCP resto at Astoria's Museum of the Moving Image, may not be a Xmas film, and some might say it has no biz making my Pick when we're so close to the Yule itself, but any chance to watch the luminous DP work of the great Jack Cardiff in so esteemed a venue as MoMI leaves other competitive screenings firmly in its wake. Plus the Clodagh/Ruth thing's hot. I DON'T have a nun thing!

For more info on these and all NYC's remaining classic screenings in 2013 click on the interactive calendar on the upper right hand side of the page. And be sure to follow me on Facebook and Twitter! Back tomorrow with a new Pick, til then make sure the stockings are hung by the chimney with care and pass that on to the other kids! Three days til Santa! Whoo!
