Merry Christmas from Nitrate Stock.

I have long described myself as a "recovering Irish-Catholic", an "Apatheist", and "nun'ya friggin' biz" whence my beliefs have been inquired upon. However, the statistically trackable increase in warmth, mirth and optimism, amongst the otherwise gruff and even jaded denizens of so-called civilized society, that marks this holiday season is something that I have clung to from childhood to...well whatever state of stunted adolescence I appear in to you now. In other words I may not adhere to any singular religious dogma, but I've never lost my faith, and while this holiday season is routinely and perhaps justifiably criticized for its unblinking sentimentalism and commercial manipulation of said, it remains a time of year where smiles are just that much wider, manners are just that much more gracious, and hope needs no justification.

From the bottom of my heart I wish you and yours the happiest of Christmases, I hope it finds you and your loved ones healthy and sharing each other's company, and my wish is that you pass on whatever childishness you maintain, whether it be Shakespeare's 1st or 2nd stages or some other mercurial form, to those about you for at least one day.

Excelsior, knuckleheads.
